The security system is an access control solution based on a proximity reader with biometric fingerprint option installed on the data centre door. Along with the other components of the system, it provides a high degree of access protection to the designated room. The door in this case, is fitted with an electric door strike or an electromechanical lock mechanism and a door contact to complete the operation.
The internal wall of the data centre room handles the access decisions based on the pre-programmed security policies and will be able to report to the security officer all events and alarms generated for information and action. This system feeds from the UPS power supply for added security. Controlling in a system that provides for authorized entry only to the data centre can define a complete Physical Access Protection. The Access Control System is enhanced with a Time and Attendance System where the software provides for various reports related to the access to the data centre, which can be generated by the system.
